The Problem

In 2012, I had the opportunity to work on an interesting project with Raytheon through Weymouth Design, an interactive agency based in Boston.

The Corporate Responsibility Report (CCR) is an annual publication that details Raytheon’s corporate responsibility practices. While it is similar to the Annual Report, it emphasizes social and environmental impacts.

Traditionally, both the CCR and the Annual Report were prepared as PDF files for distribution to investors. However, PDFs have several drawbacks: they are not easily indexed by search engines, which limits their visibility for SEO purposes. Additionally, navigating through hundreds of pages in a PDF can be quite challenging for many investors.

The Concept

We propose that Raytheon create its Annual Report as a responsive website accessible to investors, whether they are using a mobile device or working at a desk. The site will be easy to update through an integrated content management system (CMS).

Additionally, the website will feature interactive multimedia elements, including micro-interactions, videos, and audio content. We also prioritize a print-friendly option to accommodate those who prefer a hardcopy of the report.

Team and Role

I am the sole designer on this project, collaborating closely with the Product Manager, Copywriter, Developer, and the Raytheon Marketing team.
